we just got home from our day in nyc and we had a really great time.  we were able to meet craig for both lunch and dinner and the central park zoo was really laid back and fun.  one thing that really added to our enjoyment was the stroller i brought for soren.  don't judge, people.  i know he's 5 and perfectly capable of walking a pretty good distance...the problem is that HE doesn't know that.  if that child has to walk more than 10 steps at a time, you can bet your right arm he will be rolling on the floor and begging to be carried.  it's not pretty.   i brought the stroller because i just wanted to be relaxed and have fun and it really helped in that area.  it also made it so much easier to keep track of both of them,  especially since we walked all the way from central park to bryant park which is about 22 blocks.  it was such a beautiful day and sy walked the whole way like a trouper.  some highlights of our day were...

eating 2 meals with daddy

watching as nyc gets decked out for the holidays

watching 2 zoo keepers chase a big, fat bunny who had escaped from its habitat at the children's area of the zoo

eating ice cream and dancing in central park while listening to a jazz band play

the empire state building glowing red, white and blue for veteran's day and the few moments when a perfect crescent moon was right next to it

and bryant park is so fun right now.  there is a huge ice skating rink set up in the center and all around the perimeter there are tons of little holiday shops set up.

here is the slide show of our adventure today...and the music is cool so make sure your speakers are on.

enjoy!

Wow, that looks like the PERFECT outing. I've always said I couldn't live in NY (happily), but you're messing with my mind! It looks absolutely fabulous - I'm so glad you are having a good time!

Looks amazing! I wish I lived there now! Also, I am really impressed that you knew the word "crest" for that thing on the bird's head. Great Job on that one.

No judgement here, I have a child like that too! I think chances are if you have more than 1 kid, you'll have a child like that. :)
