caution...may be graphic

so tonight sy was having an episode. one of those "i didn't wipe my bum very good last time i went #2 and now my booty hole hurts" episodes. you know what i am talking about. so in true mom fashion i inspected the area in question and sure enough, all the evidence was there including a sweet raw, red ring of fire. we got some wet wipes and the rest went something like this..."ok, kid. drop your pants. alright, now hands on the floor...booty in the air." i cleaned him up and as i did so i said to my lovely 6 year old that the next time he wants to be mad at me for something...like if he doesn't get his way or if i tell him "no" and he really wants to be nasty and mean to me that he needs to remember that i wipe his butt. i wipe his stinky little butt. he should think to himself, "i really want to be mad at her right now, but i'm not going to because she wipes my butt." babies can get by without acknowledging their mothers for this little chore but now that my boys are walking, talking members of society...if a butt needs to be wiped, then i am going to demand the respect i deserve.

I think this should be embroidered on pillows in kids' rooms. Very wise words...

You're much too kind Annie- my new trick is to pour powder in their undies then tell them to pull up quickly and fluff the powder in the offending areas until bathtime... works wonders.
