and the andersons will be moving to...

New York City, baby!

craig has accepted an offer for a position as an investment banker for bank of america in new york city! we are very excited and i am over the top proud of craig...he has worked so hard to land one of these coveted investment banking jobs.

while i am extremely excited about this new adventure, it is a bit bittersweet. goldman sachs in san francisco had craig in a wait list type situation. they didn't tell him no---but they didn't give him a yes either. if they had given him an offer craig would have snatched it up immediately. plus, my sister lives out in the bay area and it would have been our every dream come true to live near each other and have our kids grow up together. the bank of america offer expired today, and with no offers coming from goldman---craig accepted it.

so i have some mixed emotions...happy and excited on one side, and sad and a little depressed on the other. we were so close to making goldman sachs and the bay area work but it just didn't happen.

we will not be moving until june-ish so we have a while to sort out where we will be living.

oh, and the best part is that he will be going to work everyday in a suit and tie...and that's hot.

anyone want to come and visit??

Congratulations to Craig...sounds like a very impressive position. I am very impressed at how supportive you are to up and move....not sure I could be that flexible. I wish you were going to be near Susan but I know that the Andersons will do well wherever they are.

Yes, congratulations ! I've always thought the East Coast would be a neat place to live - and on the bright side, this way you & Susan will have to visit back & forth NY/SF - how very cosmopolitan !

OMG!!! This is so exciting. It was always my dream to move to NY. Sister O'Malley will have to check out all the cool places to go during Thanksgiving and then send the list to you since you'll be living there.

Congratulations! That's fantastic (though I was rooting for SF, too). Bagels and pizza are delicious. And a suit every day? Start tie shopping!

Hey Anne, it's Sandee from Spark! Yep, that's my Sydnee {the one with the brown hair in the pic.s with her friend}.

So you're going to be moving to New York!!! What an adventure, I would miss my family for sure but I think I would l-o-v-e living in a gorgeous little town back east.. my husband would have to commute because I like to visit the big city but I'm a country girl at heart. I would love to live where there is one of those old covered bridges with lots of trees to turn vibrant colors in the Fall. Good luck!!! ...and YES I would love to come visit, not that you know me all that well, but still we're both Spark girls right!

Okay, sorry for the big novel of a comment! LOL But I still have to mention that I love the way your beaded organza flower turned out, and that ruffly flower you put on your fabric bracelet. So cute!!!

Congratulations!! My best friend from high school Karly just moved back from out there. They did a year in Brooklyn and ultimately LOVED living in New Jersey. Her husband commuted into the city. Let me know if you would like their contact info. They know a ton of people/great places to live.
