come one, come all...

to the anderson family freak show.

today, while my sweet friend was visiting with her 3 young boys, we were enjoying some nice conversation as the kids played in my backyard. now, my backyard is little boy heaven---we have grassy hills, hills of dirt, rocks aplenty, sticks and branches, as well as a plethora of random debris left over from construction---i.e. pvc pipe, cement curbing, and an old decrepit chair that would actually be beautiful if it wasn't disgusting. most of these items are at the top of the hill just out of sight. plus we are just renting and feel no responsibility to remove all the junk. so while sy and soren were showing their new friends the glory that is the backyard, we hear this, "look what we found!" my friend and i went to the back door to find our children holding these...

that's right. some bud light and knives. awesome. needless to say i was horrified, as was my nice, sweet friend who did a good job of trying to remain calm while gathering up her kids and getting the hell out. so in honor of our fantastic treasures we will be foregoing the usual easter egg hunt this year. we will be hunting for condoms and crossbows instead. if you want to join us you better sign up quick...there is limited space available.

and since i haven't posted any pictures of the boys lately i thought i would post some that will really make the grandmas proud.

that is hilarious and horrifying. peyton once found a pocketknife in our junk drawer and brought it over to kristi's to show max...without me knowing.

That is so funny!- but only because they didn't come home drunk without a few fingers or something. Love the pictures.

I LOVE those pics. Sy has really tapped into his dark side. And is that beer left in that bottle? Truly bizarre...

Oh my gosh- cannot believe the looks on the boys faces- very impressive- especially Soren- he's tapping right in to evil! Amazing... at least they brought it to you right away!... versus imbibing and whittling sticks.

OK, so WHY DID I FIND THIS SO DANG FUNNY? In fact, I didn't find it HORRIBLE at all. Hmmmm...maybe it's because it brings back memories that NOW make me laugh (certainly not THEN) In fact, ask Craig what he and Kyle brought back from the trailer across the highway. (NOW, he may NOT tell you that they didn't SHOW the items to me...just squirreled them away for private use) and that's the REST of the story!

This is the best, Anne! And I agree with Sophia -- you're a great writer. You should publish a book about all of your adventures. I love, love, love those pics!!!

This is the best post ever. Love the pics of the boys with their findings.

How bizarre. The thing is that they will probably remember this the rest of their lives! I found part of a gun (probably a b-b gun) in our "woods" when I was little and the excitement lives on with me still today! :) This was a great post. Those pictures of the should really go on the wall above the gun cabinet!

I am totally laughing. So what is more scary this or the cougar? I love your adventures. Your boys are hilarious.

I love it...reminds me of the time Julie (at one year) found a can a beer at the park. Yeah, she had a few drinks of the leftovers and was licking around the top.

Sick.

Anne, I read this blog every time I need a good laugh! Today was one of them....You're so funny! I picture your friend, very casually gathering and heading for the door before breaking into a full RUN to escape!

HAVE FUN FINDING THE "eggs".
