I watched EVERY second. Would LOVE to make suggestions. Would LOVE to have had some suggestions. Lots of negative rhetoric with no plan or suggestion of plan of action. If the public, who elect the "government", can't understand the magnitude of the problem nor the ability to discern ways to participate in a solution, the "wake-up call" is just an annoying alarm clock continuing to ring.

When was the last time a US Savings Bond was purchased by someone you know?

I agree with you, Mom. However, I submit that most Americans aren't aware of the magnitude of the problem. If the primary goal of this clip is awareness, and I believe it is, then it is effective. If the primary goal is to propose a plan for change, then if falls woefully short.

That being said, it does make a very strong recommendation to individuals that the average American hasn't heeded for a handful of years... Dont' spend more than you make! SAVE MONEY!

First you have to admit there is a problem.

You're not going to believe this - we watched the WHOLE THING. It's crazy. If the goal is awareness, it certainly does that. We were sobered and led to examine (once again) our own situation and spending practices. See this link to a post by my bro analyzing this same concept: http://lapaube.blogspot.com/ Thanks for the heads up! What can we do??

OH, I am in total agreement with the entire concept of awareness. MY position, however, is that many people will only see "the government" as the "culprit", when in reality it is US -- WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT...the more we demand, the less we give, the more culpable we are.

You're right, though, most of "us" are not aware of the magnitude of the problem, nor are we skillful or enlightened enough to intelligently participate/select a path of remedy.
