the weaving of tangled webs...

there once was a boy named sy,
who found himself caught in a lie,
he tried to pass blame
then hung shoulders in shame
as his mommy wiped all the tears dry.

on a more positive note...

he did compose his first song yesterday. after about 10 minutes of serious work at the kitchen table, he presented me with 2 drums (buckets) and directed a rehearsal that included him on the cardboard guitar he concocted thanks to blues clues.

this is a copy of his masterpiece

let me explain. the buckets he gave me were red and green---the red bucket was bigger than the green one. and the brown things represent the guitar. he wrote numbers above each grouping to let us know how many beats we should do and it's obvious when we are to stop. we did a few run throughs and he was quite pleased. he then wrote a second movement which included pop (craig's dad) playing the plastic bag in combination with my bucket drums and his kleenex box guitar.

so, basically, an average day for sy involves a lot of creativity---whether it's in the form of a fib or rock and roll.

This post is killing me in so many, many ways. Where to start? That picture of Sy is ADORABLE, that poem, hilarious (especially since I know the stories (fabrications :)) and that musical composition is pure genius. What the heck? What five year old does that? That is truly creative beyond belief. Please tell Sy that I'm really going to eat him now. No joke.

Sy, Sy, Sy...Just remember, Anne, that Kyle was the BIGGEST story teller ever...Sy's genius is just beginning. Can't wait for a performance when I visit. Speaking of....the whole staff is TOTALLY into getting rid of me for four or five days again. They even VOLUNTEERED to work extra (should I be getting a message?) Anyway, I may be there BEFORE 0-dark-thirty on the 23rd so all can go about their business. Maybe we'll pass on the highway!

Love the posts...keep them coming (please!)
