bunk brothers

big things are happening in the life of soren. the almost 3 year old is finally sleeping in a big boy bed. not just any old big boy bed----the bottom bunk in sy's room. let me just state for the record that my boys are not big boy bed bound until they are at least 3 years old. why, you ask? 'cause this momma don't play the little people getting out of their bed game. nothing creeps me out more than little tiny people sneaking up behind me when i think they are snug in their beds. it puts a serious buzz kill on the enormous high i feel every night once the boys are all tucked in. heroin's got nothin' on nighttime mommy freedom. that being said, this transition has been really easy. soren is big into sy worship these days so this falls right in line with his daily checklist of things to do to be just like sy. unfortunately, this checklist also includes having major attitude and now waking up at 6:30 am instead of the oh so lovely 8:30 am my friend the crib provided me. but it is all worth it to see this beautiful little boy grow up and follow in his idol's footsteps. besides, i know all about it----i 've been into susan worship for about 32 years now.

wow, has he fallen out at all? That is so cute... to share the bunk. Will Soren keep his own room still? Bye, bye crib tent, (although now you might need a bunk tent :)) until the next little one comes along. I feel for you on the early awakenings. ...and thanks for the susan pug, that was sweet!

Just zoomed in on your picture... aren't boys with loveys the cutest dang thing ever!!? Also noticed that Soren is looking so grown up- even since June his face looks so mature, and of course, gorgeous.

Your boys are so adorable. I love the comment on nighttime mommy freedom. I too cherish that time. I tell my kids that after 8 P.M. mommy no longer exists to them- it is the Wicked Witch!- so get to bed!

Tears...Seriously. I laughed so hard reading this post because we are twins separated at birth! (That kind of makes you and Craig a weird couple but I won't go there.) Anyhoo, Ava turned 3 in June and she's still in a crib. I love, love, love the 9am wake up too, so I will be tres sad to graduate her to a big girl be next month as we get ready for baby boy.
