you can't take it with you...

so today sy was helping me, anne (yes this is my first blog post ever--but this is not about me folks), put his clean laundry away. in the middle of our project he paused and said, "mommy, if i go to heaven will i never see you again?" yes, i know---if only all things that came out of this child's mouth were that laced with innocence. i replied, "oh, no, no, no, sweetie. i will be in heaven with you." he then asked if he could take his toys to heaven with him, as he ogled his trains on the table beside him. i, of course, told him no--that those kinds of things stay behind. He said, "are there any toys in heaven?" i said cheerfully, "i don't know, but i bet there might be!" to which he replied, "but maybe there isn't!" and i said, "maybe there is!" and he said, "maybe there isn't!" followed by a very reserved, "i'm not going to heaven." so at least we have that issue cleared up. now i can spend all that time i would have used teaching him how to be a good person on things like napping and going out to lunch.

Hey, can I "Do" lunch with you? Honestly, WHERE do they come up with these things? Some poor Primary teacher can take it from there!

Great post! I love to hear the day-to-day happenings like this. It makes me feel I'm "growing up" with the children.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Anne, that is hilarious. That will be one to tease him about when he grows up.
