Playing Catch-up........ Starting with Christmas

OK... it is time to play a bit of catch-up on the blog.

This was our 2nd year of not traveling to spend Christmas with either of our parents for Christmas and we had a great time. The newest thing this year was Sy being into Santa and the whole Christmas thing. It was especially cute when we were writing a note to leave for Santa, along with cookies and milk and a carrot for Rudolph, on Christmas Eve.

Another tradition we have done for a few years is going to the Trail of Lights. The city of Austin and a whole bunch of local sponsors light up Zilker Park, probably the biggest park in Austin, and thousands and thousands of locals make it a tradition to walk through and enjoy the lights. Here is a picture of the event from a distance with the city skyline in the background.

Of course, we also had to stop and see Santa. That lasted for about 30 seconds for Soren (notice the pleading to get off) but Sy was brave and used the opportunity to solicit goodies from the eternal fountain of toys himself.

Probably the day's favorite gift was the playhouse the family got from Grandma and Papa Anderson. Weeks later it is still a favorite and Sy and Soren still prepare pretend turkey for meals at the table.

The only negative point has been a decrease of time visiting with you all over the holidays. Living so far away and having 4 plane tickets to buy has made getting together harder but we still thought of you all.

Merry 'belated' Christmas!

LOVE the Christmas photos. It's NEVER too late to share the fun times with others. The boys looked great! I LOVED Christmas when the kids were little. There was so much excitement and anticipation. I really missed the live Nativity this year. I wish I could have pulled it together enough to get to Texas. Maybe next? Maybe we'll have to do on-site work for the b-b-que place?????
