Ooooouuuuuch!

When I landed in Chicago the first thing I did was call Anne. She sounded tired and started with, "It has been an interesting day..." Those are never good words.

It turns out Sy had had an accident at school (not that kind of accident). He fell off the slide and somehow had punctured a couple of small holes in his cheek near the corner of his mouth. Anne had brought him to an urgent care place and spent the better part of the day trying to get Sy taken care of.

At one point the doctors said they needed to cut the cheek between the holes in order to do a good job stitching up the whole thing. That meant Anne had to send Sy back with the doctors by himself while she wrestled Soren. As you can imagine, Sy needed to be restrained and could be heard screaming throughout the building.

Now he just walks around proudly wearing a bandaid and we all think he is pretty tough.

I guess he ended up with 3 stitches. Just before taking this picture he commented that he thought the stitches looked like a bug crawling on his face. I think I would have to agree.

Oh, Sy. I'm sorry you got hurt. Your Daddy had stitches, too, about your age. He fell on a stone wall playing at his Grandpa's house. I hope you're feeling fine now. EVERYONE at school will want to see how cool the stiches are!
